Nano violet tungsten oxide has excellent UV and IR shielding rate and good visible light transmittance. So, it is suitable for producing infrared thermal insulation nano material. Certainly, the application of nano grain size violet tungsten oxide is not limited thereto; it can also be used to prepare tungsten powder.
Preparation of Tungsten Powder
1. Experimental raw materials: APT was produced by evaporative crystallization method, whose chemical composition meets the technical requirements of GB-10116-88, APT-0. The batch of APT contained 88.83% WO3, the calcination loss was 11.12%, and the Fischer particle size was 43.7μm.
2. Experimental method: The same batch of ammonium paratungstate (APT) was used in the air to obtain yellow tungsten oxide by calcining; pre-reduction was carried out at different temperatures and hydrogen atmosphere, respectively, and blue tungsten oxide and violet tungsten oxide of ammonium tungsten bronze (ATB) were respectively obtained. The tungsten powder was separately prepared by using the three kinds of tungsten oxide under the same hydrogen reduction process.
