Ammonium metatungstate may be used for the manufacturing of thermal insulation paper so that this type of dingal paper may have good thermal insulation effect, with infrared insulation rate higher than 90%.
Also, the thermal insulation paper has the characteristics of fire resistance, high temperature resistance, high flexibility, high tear resistance and low thermal conductivity. Thus, it is mainly used for building insulation, or as lining of various industrial furnaces and high-temperature pipes. All these are due to the adding of tungsten acid in the dingal paper.
