Na2WO4 was used as raw material, hydrochloric acid was added to make a sol, and then cetrimonium bromide (CTAB) surfactant was added to obtain agglomerate, dried and calcined to obtain tungsten trioxide of particle size of 31~45nm.
CTAB is a cationic surfactant. As with most surfactants, CTAB forms micelles in aqueous solutions. At 30°C, it forms micelles with aggregation number 75-120 and degree of ionization, α=0.2–0.1 (from low to high concentration). CTAB presents a white microcrystalline powder that is hygroscopic and stable in acidic solutions. And it is soluble in 10 parts of water, readily soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in acetone, and almost insoluble in ether and benzene.
