Rare earth market update on April 27, 2025
The overall performance of the domestic rare earth market is poor. Under the interweaving of long and short factors, the price trends of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products have slightly differentiated: the center of gravity of praseodymium and neodymium continues to decline, while the price of dysprosium terbium is relatively stable. Today, the prices of neodymium praseodymium oxide and neodymium praseodymium metal have decreased by approximately 3,000 yuan per ton and 2,000 yuan per ton respectively.
In the light rare earth market, when magnetic material companies have limited consumption capacity and large spot supply in the market, suppliers lack confidence in stabilizing prices and their quotations continue to be lowered, but supported by production costs, the decline in product prices is relatively small. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, there is generally a market-free market, with few new orders, mainly due to the weak balance between supply and demand and low market activity.
In terms of news, Zhenghai Magnetic Materials achieved operating income of 5.539 billion yuan in 2024, a year-on-year decrease of 5.70%; and achieved net profit attributable to shareholders of 92.3402 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 79.37%. During the reporting period, the company's high-performance neodymium iron boron permanent magnet material products were equipped with 5.61 million sets of energy-saving and new energy vehicle motors.
