According to data compiled by Chinaungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs,from January to April 2025, the cumulative export volume of tungsten products from China (excluding carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) was 4,700.12 tons, a decrease of 24.58% compared to the same period in 2024. The cumulative import value was 1.426 billion yuan, a decrease of 14.15% year-over-year.
Export Increases
Among these, from January to April 2025, China exported:
Tungstic acid: 58.40 tons, an increase of 1,360.00%;
Tungsten hexafluoride: 145.69 tons, an increase of 22.49%;
Sodium tungstate: 22.00 tons, an increase of 144.44%;
Ammonium metatungstate: 952.88 tons, an increase of 55.08%;
Unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering: 686.96 tons, an increase of 250.04%;
Tungsten wire: 129.14 tons, an increase of 10.04%.
Export Decreases
Exports of the following products decreased:
Tungsten trioxides: 330.48 tons, a decrease of 68.82%;
Other tungsten oxides and hydroxides, nes: 157.77 tons, a decrease of 70.65%;
Ammonium paratungstate: 122.50 tons, a decrease of 11.49%;
Carbides of tungsten: 299.58 tons, a decrease of 77.25%;
Ferro-tungsten: 978.42 tons, a decrease of 7.10%;
Tungsten powders: 463.74 tons, a decrease of 7.32%;
Tungsten waste and scrap: 133.37 tons, a decrease of 35.73%;
Bars and rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils: 137.88 tons, a decrease of 25.85%.
Additional Exports
Additionally, from January to April 2025, China exported:
Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 515.97 tons, an increase of 12.90%;
Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 643.38 tons, a decrease of 0.20%.
