According to data compiled by CTIA GROUP LTD from the General Administration of Customs, the import and export details of China's molybdenum products for the first half of 2025 are as follows: In the first half of 2025, China’s cumulative molybdenum product imports totaled 41,101.50 tons, an increase of 22.19% year-on-year; the cumulative import value was 5.986 billion yuan, an increase of 30.16% year-on-year.
Among these, in the first half, China imported 6,113.75 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 115.35% year-on-year; 29,315.91 tons of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 19.84% year-on-year; 969.74 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, a decrease of 21.45% year-on-year; 1,108.52 tons of ammonium molybdate, an increase of 205.45% year-on-year; 610.56 tons of other molybdates, an increase of 0.81% year-on-year; 2,821.46 tons of ferromolybdenum, a decrease of 28.61% year-on-year; 2.01 tons of molybdenum powder, an increase of 4.08% year-on-year; 13.54 tons of unwrought molybdenum, including simply sintered bars and rods, an increase of 451,100.00% year-on-year; 113.50 tons of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles, sheets, strips, foils, and special shapes, a decrease of 27.51% year-on-year; 19.79 tons of molybdenum wire, an increase of 58.90% year-on-year; and 12.74 tons of other molybdenum products, an increase of 24.01% year-on-year.
In the first half of 2025, China’s cumulative molybdenum product exports totaled 19,220.53 tons, a decrease of 3.86% year-on-year; the cumulative export value was 4.085 billion yuan, a decrease of 9.79% year-on-year.
Among these, in the first half, China exported 7,174.60 tons of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 11.73% year-on-year; 4,688.73 tons of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, an increase of 24.10% year-on-year; 1,193.88 tons of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, a decrease of 27.35% year-on-year; 189.20 tons of ammonium molybdate, a decrease of 33.32% year-on-year; 187.60 tons of other molybdates, an increase of 10.12% year-on-year; 3,137.65 tons of ferromolybdenum, a decrease of 21.32% year-on-year; 11.61 tons of molybdenum powder, a decrease of 91.49% year-on-year; 1,033.98 tons of unwrought molybdenum, including simply sintered bars and rods, a decrease of 34.77% year-on-year; 334.12 tons of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles, sheets, strips, foils, and special shapes, a decrease of 15.46% year-on-year; 158.05 tons of molybdenum wire, an increase of 10.96% year-on-year; 994.78 tons of molybdenum scrap and fragments, a decrease of 24.42% year-on-year; and 116.34 tons of other molybdenum products, a decrease of 12.13% year-on-year.
