Molybdenum market update on November 21, 2025
This week, domestic molybdenum prices overall showed a pattern of rising first and then falling. At the beginning of the week, factors such as moderate initiative from downstream users in inquiries and procurement, coupled with strong cost support from production, jointly boosted raw material suppliers' confidence to raise their offers. Consequently, the prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferromolybdenum saw relatively considerable increases. Towards the weekend, as molybdenum prices were at relatively high levels and steel enterprises' acceptance of high-priced materials decreased, market demand showed a contracting trend. Furthermore, the fluctuating downturn in international molybdenum prices created transmission pressure, making it more difficult for domestic molybdenum raw material prices to stabilize, leading to a rational price correction.
According to statistics from CTIA GROUP LTD, this week: The price of molybdenum concentrate decreased by approximately RMB 30 per ton-degree, a decrease of 0.80%. The price of ferromolybdenum increased by approximately RMB 3,000 per tonne, an increase of 1.24%. The price of molybdenum oxide decreased by approximately RMB 20 per ton-degree, a decrease of 0.52%. The price of sodium molybdate increased by approximately RMB 1,000 per tonne, an increase of 0.42%. The price of ammonium heptamolybdate increased by approximately RMB 1,000 per tonne, an increase of 0.42%. The price of molybdenum powder increased by approximately RMB 2 per kilogram, an increase of 0.52%.
