Rare earth market update on November 17, 2025
On Monday, the domestic rare earth market overall performed relatively calmly. Under the background of limited consumption capacity among downstream users and low willingness among suppliers to reduce prices for shipments, trading activity in the market was low, with product prices showing no obvious changes. Today, praseodymium oxide, terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide prices were approximately RMB 573,000 per ton, RMB 6,600,000 per ton and RMB 1,530,000 per ton, respectively.
In the light rare earth market, with current praseodymium-neodymium prices not low and tight working capital among rare earth downstream production enterprises, market demand is difficult to rise, but supported by production costs, suppliers have low willingness to sell at significant discounts. In the medium-heavy rare earth market, influenced by relatively large spot supply volumes and insufficient confidence in the future outlook among industry players, market transaction volumes were low.
According to the official website of the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, in October 2025, the average sales price per ton of Ganzhou high-yttrium oxide (rare earth) and medium-yttrium europium oxide (rare earth) was RMB 205,000 and RMB 190,000 respectively, decreased by 6.82% and 5.00% month-on-month respectively, decreased by 2.38% and increased by 2.15% year-on-year respectively; the average sales price of Ganzhou tungsten concentrate per ton was RMB 266,000, decreased by 6.67% month-on-month, increased by 91.37% year-on-year.
