According to data compiled by CTIA GROUP LTD from the General Administration of Customs, in October 2025, China’s molybdenum product imports totaled 9,498.40 tonnes, decreased by 7.68% month-on-month and increased by 49.60% year-on-year; the import value amounted to RMB 1.779 billion, decreased by 5.33% month-on-month and increased by 93.71% year-on-year.

Of which, in October China imported 2,860.08 tonnes of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, increased by 853.36% year-on-year; 5,347.85 tonnes of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, increased by 4.69% year-on-year; 231.83 tonnes of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, increased by 146.19% year-on-year; 5.04 tonnes of ammonium molybdate, decreased by 96.89% year-on-year; 84.07 tonnes of other molybdates, decreased by 39.05% year-on-year; 943.00 tonnes of ferromolybdenum, increased by 80.31% year-on-year; 830.00 kg of molybdenum powder, increased by 514.81% year-on-year; 20.29 tonnes of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles and shapes, plates, sheets, strips and foil, increased by 27.26% year-on-year; 4.58 tonnes of molybdenum wire, decreased by 30.41% year-on-year; and 0.84 tonnes of other molybdenum products, increased by 3.97% year-on-year.
In October 2025, China’s molybdenum product exports totaled 2,305.07 tonnes, decreased by 0.31% month-on-month and decreased by 31.88% year-on-year; the export value amounted to RMB 633 million, increased by 6.49% month-on-month and decreased by 21.43% year-on-year.

Of which, in October China exported 999.36 tonnes of roasted molybdenum ores and concentrates, decreased by 29.55% year-on-year; 116.73 tonnes of other molybdenum ores and concentrates, decreased by 72.59% year-on-year; 45.70 tonnes of molybdenum oxides and hydroxides, decreased by 81.46% year-on-year; 20.01 tonnes of ammonium molybdate, decreased by 48.71% year-on-year; 23.56 tonnes of other molybdates, increased by 4.47% year-on-year; 786.10 tonnes of ferromolybdenum, increased by 11.57% year-on-year; 1.00 tonne of molybdenum powder, decreased by 96.22% year-on-year; 157.55 tonnes of unwrought molybdenum (including bars and rods simply obtained by sintering), decreased by 37.18% year-on-year; 28.09 tonnes of molybdenum bars, rods, profiles and shapes, plates, sheets, strips and foil, decreased by 72.54% year-on-year; 19.99 tonnes of molybdenum wire, increased by 3.39% year-on-year; 57.37 tonnes of molybdenum waste and scrap, decreased by 48.44% year-on-year; and 49.61 tonnes of other molybdenum products, increased by 200.19% year-on-year.
